Hello, I'm Kayla! I'm a Graphic Designer from the Chicagoland area.
I first opened Photoshop my senior year of high school. I had decided to take digital photography as a fun Senior class, expecting to just play around and take photos with a digital camera. I soon learned the class was more about image editing and manipulation on the computer using this program called Photoshop. I had always been an arts and crafts kind of kid, but I didn't think that would ever translate into a career, unless I chose to be a grade school art teacher or something like that. After taking the digital photography class, I knew if there was a way I could incorporate this program and what it could do into my life's work, I was going to be really happy.
While design is a big part of my life, I have a life full of other interests. I’m a mom to an amazing 2 year old named Wesley. I’m a giant Harry Potter nerd. I love buying new houseplants to add to my collection. I have two cats and one dog. I’ve been fostering animals since 2019. To date, I’ve fostered ~40 animals. But now I mostly just foster cats and kittens. I like to be outdoors. I like to ride my dirt bike on the Manistee forest trails in Michigan. In the Fall of 2019, I hiked the Yosemite Half Dome trail: 4,800 ft elevation gain & 17 miles round trip! I’ll almost never turn down coffee or donuts. I like to do anything analog or hands on: letterpress, screen printing, paper making and more. I have a Showcard letterpress and I letterpressed my own wedding invitations.
