Sumo Snowboard

In December of 2013, I participated in a 2 week game/animation study abroad program in Japan. With about 20 other students from DePaul, we went to Tokyo, Kyoto, and Nagoya. The experience was phenomenal and far too hard to put in to words.

While in Nagoya, we worked with students from Trident college on a game jam. We had 2 days to create a working desktop game with the students in Nagoya. From Trident, I worked on game art with Naiki. When she said her name, she then said like "swish", as in the Nike symbol. I knew I liked her already. Naiki did character art and I did background art and typography. The Adobe programs were in Japanese so that was an interesting hurdle to get over, but Naiki was very helpful. Some screenshots of the game are shown here.
